ABOUT
The Dutch kitesurf brand Harlem was founded with a simple intention: challenge the status quo and build gear that performs, lasts, and respects the planet. Harlem exists to rethink how kite equipment is made, used, and valued with purpose, resilience, and bold innovation at its core.
This shoot follows Harlem rider and athlete Lana Herman, not in a moment of peak performance, but during the quiet rebuild after injury.
INSIGHT
This story isn’t about winning. It’s about coming back. After injury, surgeries, infection, and silence away from salt and speed, Lana returned with patience, alignment, and quiet defiance.
OUTCOME
The result is a series that blends documentary authenticity with Harlem’s raw and unapologetic spirit. Images shaped by natural light, movement, wind, water and the emotional landscape of return. No forced poses. No polished comeback narrative.
A woman reconnecting with what makes her feel alive.
