STORY/ TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Freediving is more than just a sport — it’s a way of being. I had the honor to join a group of freedivers as they prepared for their descent into the deep. In the golden light, I captured them embrace their ritual — each lost in their own world, finding stillness before the dive.

Eyes closed, steady breaths. The sun warms their skin as they center themselves, grounding mind and body. A final inhale — deep, deliberate, filling every corner of their lungs with life. One by one, they slip beneath the surface, surrendering to the silence. Weightless. Boundless. A moment of absolute presence. The world above fades, and in its place, a deep connection — to self, to the water, to something greater.

These are the moments that exist beyond time — raw, pure, and infinite.
